Vertical preheater refers to a vertical preheating device used for preheating refractory raw materials. It has the characteristics of reasonable structure, high thermal efficiency and automation level, but cannot fully utilize crushed materials (requiring feed particles of 18-50mm) and unsuitable raw materials with poor thermal stability.

1. Upper feeding system: It mainly includes upper storage bin and lower feeding pipe. The discharging type and structure can ensure safe closeness of feeding. Outer cold air will not float into the preheater and the feeding will be continuous or intermittent using bar valve;

2. Preheater: It’s the most important part for materials to be preheated to about 900℃. It consists of preheating chamber, suspension device and refractory brick lining (which doesn’t belong to the design and manufacturing of the equipment). Most of the structure are metal components and part of materials adopt heat resistant steel which can work within 1000-1100℃. In addition, with unique structure and good sealing, refractory brick lining can ensure even preheating and reach preheating temperature;

3. Pushing device: It mainly includes pusher head, frame and connecting rod. The pusher head is welded by heat resistant steel which withstands high temperature. By virtue of electric control and hydraulic system, all hydraulic pushing rod can automatically control the procedure to achieve orderly pushing;

4. Hydraulic system: It mainly includes the oil box, oil pump, motor, electromagnetic valve and hydraulic oil pipe. The main function is to control the pushing device and complete pushing;

5. Lower feeding chamber: It’s composed of the chute pipe, feeding chamber, and feeding nozzle. It’s mainly used to lead preheated materials to the rotary kiln for combustion;

6. Frame: It’s comprised of column and ring beam. It’s applied to carry the upper structure of the preheater.

Advantages of Vertical Preheater

Vertical preheater is one of the main machines for active limestone. It’s mainly used to convey limestone materials to the preheater and evenly preheat them to about 900℃ making use of high temperature waste (1150℃) exhausted from the kiln. In the course of preheating, about 30% CaCO3 is decomposed and is pushed into the rotary kiln for combustion by hydraulic pushing rod. It not only saves much time for combustion but also acquires limestone with higher activity degree.

Working principle of Vertical Preheater

Raw materials enter into the smoke and material isolation cover from the feeding chamber and are evenly distributed in the annular stacking space between two drums along the cone surface of the central distribution cone. Hot smoke of 900-1000℃ from the rotary kiln goes to the whole section of the annular stacking space through the air inlet. It flows reversely toward the feeding through material layer to achieve full heat transfer. Preheated materials in 600℃ will be pushed to the kiln in turn by pushing rod discharging device to achieve even feeding. After heat transfer, the temperature of the smoke decreases to about 300℃ which will be exhausted to the atmosphere by the smoke exhauster of the electric dust catcher.
