Advantages of Permanent Magnet Drum Magnetic Separator
Permanent magnet drum magnetic separator is applied to separate fine magnetic ores or remove the magnetic ores from nonmagnetic ores in enterprises, institutions and personal consumers in mining and metallurgical industries. The magnetic field strength of the surface is higher than that of the common permanent magnet drum magnetic separator. It’s easy for operation, management and maintenance with good electricity saving performance among all ore separators. The drum can be equipped with three types of tanks, that is, semi-upstream tank (CTB), downstream tank (CTS) and upstream tank (CTN), which will meet different needs of separation. Semi-upstream tank is suitable for primary and fine separation of ores of 0.5-0mm, especially the fine separation of ores of 0.15-0mm; the downstream tank is for primary and fine separation of ores of 6-0mm; upstream tank is for primary separation and scavenging of ores of 0.6-0mm and the medium recycle in coal separation industry.

Working principle of Permanent Magnet Drum Magnetic Separator
After the slurry flows into the tank, ores will enter loosely into the feeding area in the tank under the flow action of spray pipe. Magnetic ores will gather to form “magnetic cluster” or “magnetic chain” under the action of magnetic field. The magnetic cluster or chain will move toward the magnetic pole and adhere onto the drum by magnetic force. Because the rotary direction of polarity of magnetic pole along the drum is alternatively lined and fixed when it’s working, the cluster or chain will produce magnetic stirring for alternation of magnetic pole. The nonmagnetic ores like gangue will fall off and what finally adhere on the surface of the drum are called concentrate. Then, they will turn to the weakest magnetic force of the border of magnetic system and are sent to the concentrate tank under the wash water force of spray pipe. If the roller is all magnetic, the unloading is done by brush roller. Nonmagnetic or weak magnetic ores are left in the slurry which will be discharged out of the tank as tailings.
